AIKIDO is a very powerful defensive Japanese martial art.  It is considered a "soft art", as it is non-competitive and non-aggressive.  It does not meet force with resistance or equal force - it does not rely on our strength as protection.  Instead it redirects an aggressor’s own motions and momentum with perfect timing and flowing, circular movement to compromise their stability and line of force.  Once they are off-balance they are subdued or controlled through appropriate joint locks, pins or throws.

Join Sensei Dennis Baker, Shodan, at Grapevine Martial Arts Academy for classes Mondays and Wednesdays 7:45 to 8:45 pm. Sensei Dennis trains under Sensei Russell D. Waddell, Rokudan.

Master Jean Good holds the rank of 6th Dan Black Belt in the World Youn Wha Ryu Association.
